Once upon a time there was a gigantic herd of animals everywhere!!! They were all gathered around the great Waterfall like they did every year in the savanna. They danced, splashed, stomped, and snorted and all of them were having a great time just as always. They were laughing too. It was just great until…the tiger cub named Mossy stood right SMACK in the middle of the pond by the waterfall. All the animals were terrified. But then a baby zebra noticed that the tiger was panting and had a worried look on her face as if asking, are these animals going to hurt me? Still panting, Mossy looked right into the zebra’s eyes stared and then tried to move but she was stuck! Oh no! What was she going to do? Then the zebra remembered what her mom had told her about her hooves: they could easily get out of the water. So the zebra jumped right in! Just as the zebra baby jumped into the water oh so quickly, Mossy tried to move again and— Hooray! Mossy got one foot out of the water! Then paw by paw Mossy moved out of the pond. Finally, she made it to the shore. The zebra who was going to help the tiger galloped over to congratulate her. “Great job!” said the zebra. Then the zebra introduced herself as “Grass.” The tiger’s mother had appeared and ran over to her cub. “Oh, I’m so glad your okay!”she said. The two nuzzled and licked each other all over. The tiger’s mother turned to Grass. “Thank you for saving my cub.” she whispered. The three became the best of friends and the other animals learned to trust Mossy and her mom.
